My responsibilities

I will teach students in a positive, mindful, supportive and enthusiastic environment. My goal is to empower each student to influence their music education with input based on their interest and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs. In collaboration with the student, we will set goals and establish ways to achieve them. Throughout the course of our lessons, I will encourage students to cultivate a curious and kind attitude to their musical growth.

Aside from regular one-to-one lessons, I will also provide video/audio exchanges that focus on specific exercises or areas of work and support the student in their individual work in between sessions.

Student & family responsibilities

Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment / music. To make good progress, regular, mindful, quality practise is necessary. Practise routine and guidance will be a part of the curriculum. Please always ask questions about home assignments or any unclear parts of the curriculum so the student (and where that applies, their parents) can completely understand the assignments and goals. I will always welcome questions from the student and their family.

Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular events, including auditions, competitions, examinations and public performances, as well as self-directed projects.

Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.

Music and materials

Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Materials will be assigned by me and the student will be expected to have the materials no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.

Students must have a computer, tablet or mobile device with a camera and built-in microphone or an external microphone connected for the lessons. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student (and their family) for technical trials and make specific recommendations.

Communication preferences

Email and Fons are my preferred method of communication. Please allow 24 hours for response during the week. Communications outside of the studio operating hours may have a longer response time, and all weekend communication will be answered the following Monday.

Tuition and schedule

Tuition is divided into three terms:

Autumn Term: September through December

Spring Term: January through May

Summer Term: June through August

Flat monthly tuition rates are based on the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year. There will be a minimum of 42 lessons offered by the studio throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays, personal performance opportunities, or illness) will be communicated in advance.

Planned non-lesson weeks are: Christmas and end of the year, Easter, last week of May, last week of August. There are also additional two weeks built into the studio calendar to accommodate for teacher illness. In the case these are not used, lessons may be scheduled at no extra charge.

Up to 2 video/audio exchanges are offered monthly in between scheduled lessons.

Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.

Tuition invoices will be sent by the 23rd of the month prior for all enrolled students. All payments are non-refundable. After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically. Tuition will be drawn on the 1st each month from the method on file. All automatic payments will be run through Fons.

If a payment is returned or declined a 48-hour window will be provided to adjust the payment method and resubmit payment. Invoices paid after the 3rd of the month will receive a £20 late fee. Recurring late payments may result in the termination of the student’s enrollment.

To cancel tuition, written notification must be received via email 2 weeks in advance. In the case that notice is not received by that deadline, the full tuition amount will be run automatically on the first of the month, and students have the option to attend all paid lessons that month. Lessons will then be cancelled for the following month. Tuition payments are non-refundable.

Cancellation policy

Lessons cancelled with under 24 hours' notice will not be eligible for a make-up lesson. Lessons cancelled with 24 hours' notice will be credited as a make-up lesson for that month. Make-up lessons do not count as credit for the next month’s tuition. With notice, one make-up lesson credit can be provided each term (September-December; January-May; June-August), subject to availability. Make-up lessons must be used within the term.

Lessons cancelled by me will be given as much notice as possible. Teacher cancellations outside of the guaranteed 42 annual lessons will be rescheduled within 30 days.

Tuition is based on the number of lessons the studio schedules and will not be altered. Planned vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance receive a make-up lesson credit for that month.

A student's spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.

By enrolling and paying tuition in Anna Pych’s Voice Studio, I certify that I understand and agree to the studio policies for the 2024 calendar year.
